CSS, or Cascading Style Sheets, is a style sheet language used for describing the presentation of a document written in HTML. CSS describes how elements should be rendered on screen, on paper, in speech, or on other media. I use CSS to make sure your website looks great and is responsive on all devices, however we can also make things nice and fancy with animations and transitions. Whatever your heart desires, I can make it happen.

What's the point of having a beautiful and functional website if no one can find it? I make sure to use the best practices to make sure your website is optimized for search engines. This includes using the right keywords, meta tags, and semantic markup in conjuction with many other things in making sure your website is fast and responsive. In addition to on-site SEO, I also make sure to use the best practices for off-site SEO, such as link building and social media marketing. As well as tools such as google analytics, and google search console, to make sure your website is performing at its best.

The real magic under the hood in front-end development happens when JavaScript is added into the mix. JavaScript is primarily used to make your website interactive and dynamic. This includes things like form validation, sliders, and other interactive elements. I also use JavaScript to make sure your website is accessible and works on all devices.

PHP is a server-side scripting language that is used to develop static and dynamic websites or web applications. I utilize PHP to make sure your website is dynamic and interactive. This includes things like user authentication, and database queries and management, among many other things! I also use PHP to make sure your website is secure and scalable.

My database specialty is MySQL. When running a dynamic website with lots of information coming in and out this is all possible through queries on a database. For myself I've learned to do this through MySQL. Between creating, reading, updating, and deleting data from a database, the world soon becomes your oyester. I also make sure to use the best practices for database security and performance.

With JavaScript comes many other tools that become available based off of it, one of them being React. React is a JavaScript library for building user interfaces. It's used to build single page applications and is used to handle view layers for web and mobile apps. React is great for building complex web applications, and breaking them down into smaller, reusable components. This makes it easier to manage and maintain your code, as well as making it easier to scale your application in the future with high levels of efficiency.

Development aside, being a Web Developer / Designer also means I have to be able to create and edit all sorts of different assets and media. I keep the Adobe Creative Suite in my toolbelt at all times in order to vastly increase workflow, as well as completely personalize and customize your website to your liking. This includes creating logos, editing photos, and creating videos. I also make sure to use the best practices for file optimization and compression to make sure your website is performing at its best.

Figma is another design tool that I keep in my belt. I primarily use this for prototyping and wireframing websites and designs. This allows me to create and share designs with clients and team members, as well as allowing for real-time collaboration. This allows for a more efficient workflow and a more personalized and customized website. It's important to take things one step at a time when designing, and Figma allows me to do just that.
